Programs and Services for Patient Health

Family physicians in south Calgary, that belong to the South Calgary PCN have additional supports to enhance patient care. Talk with your doctor as some programs and services require a referral. 

  • Time to Talk – a short term therapy program with registered psychologists or social workers, to assist with mental health issues. Doctor referred.
  • Social Work – team that assists patients with referrals, resources and support.
  • Pain Program – (in pilot phase) a six month program to assist patients with chronic pain. Doctor referred.
  • GLA:D – an osteoarthritis 8-week workshop to help with knee and hip pain for those over 60. Doctor referred.
  • Nutrition Services – 1:1 or group appointments, with a dietitian or nurse,  to support patient health. Doctor referred.
  • Workshops – wide variety of health and emotional well-being sessions listed under the workshops tab. No referral necessary.
  • Primary Care Behavioural Health providers are available in clinics supporting physicians supporting patients with a wide variety of health concerns like anxiety, stress, sleep, family problems, IBS, bereavement, anger, high cholesterol, chronic pain, depression, smoking, weight management, a new diagnosis, etc. Check with your clinic.
  • After Hours – family physicians participating in an after-hours program to increase access to a family doctor after 5pm. Check with your clinic.
  • Prescription to Get Active -Doctor referred.
